The Hammam

by

What more can be said about our afternoon in the bustle of the hammam?

Only one thing…..

HEN-NA!

AND chokran to the women who so graciously invited us and sent us off with gifts of homemade orange water, scrubbing mitts, ceramic pumice stones, and plastic bags of dried rosebuds….

(one final note: the orange water must be (and was) made by a woman of strength and virtue and can only be made at this season, when the orange trees bloom. How fortunate we were to be here.)
